dropping-out-of-uni - pintsizedsoph

Christmas time last year, I decided to drop out of university and it was hands down the best decision I've made.

For those of you who've read my blog from the beginning, you'll know I was studying English at a university in London - and hated every second of it.

I knew pretty much within the first few weeks that the course was just not for me. Which, for me was strange. I'd always enjoyed Literature, and it was always the subject I excelled in. However, English at university was just not for me.

I dreaded my lectures, and slowly but surely my attendance dropped along with my mental health. I wrote a post about why I was dropping out for those of you interested - and to date, it's still my most read post. This is something I'm proud of.

For those of you who don’t follow me on Twitter, you probably won’t know I’ve been on a personal mission to shift some extra pounds.

I figured I would start documenting my progress, mainly for myself. But, it's also good to look at how far you've come sometimes, it's kinda feels like mini fist-bump to yourself and feeling really great about it.

But, I also think can shout about the fact I've lost nearly 2 stone, by making very small changes to my lifestyle.

6 Things I Wish I Knew Before Going Gluten-Free

YOUR SHOPPING BILL JUST BECAME HELLA EXPENSIVE

So this is an obvious one, but a biggie. Since switching my diet, and sifting through the free-from aisle I’ve noticed a steep increase in my weekly food bill. It's even more frustrating because it's the essentials that tend to be the most expensive. It was hard saying goodbye to Lidl own-brand 69p porridge pots, and hello to the £1.50 pots from Tesco...

YOU DON'T JUST HAVE TO SHOP FROM THE FREE-FROM SECTION

Pasta sauces? Curry sauces? Soups? Don’t be tricked into thinking all you can buy is ‘gluten-free’ sauces, when in fact most supermarket products are naturally gluten free, bar the obvious. It just means you have to take a few extra minutes to read the labels. *yawn*

Is blogging is dead?

Saturday, 9 July 2016

As you may or may not know, I’ve not blogged since April. I know, shock horror.

Blogging was something I was absolutely in love with, but it slowly took over my life and often left me feeling drained. I spent my entire working day, slaving away over a computer screen, the last thing I wanted to do was spend my entire evening staring blankly at a screen.

However, here I am again.

I’ve been having an internal conflict for a while now, and it took a lot of deliberating to come back to blogging because… well blogging is dead

Beauty Things I'm Crap At

Saturday, 16 April 2016

It shouldn't be news to anybody, but I'm pretty crap when it comes to 'beauty'. I mean, I love make-up, I think applying my make-up can be very therapeutic, but I'm terrible at all the other bits. You know, the daily moisturising of the body and keeping up with your chipped nails.

How To Use Your iPhone Camera Like a Pro

For most newbie bloggers it can be a little be daunting starting a blog, most of us have limited resources and it can be really hard to produce high-quality content without the high-quality gear to go with your blog. I'm currently trying to curve my spending habits and save some money before heading back to university again, so currently don't have the funds to really be forking out for a DSLR - although when I'm moving to university, I'm planning on buying one (and maybe starting a YouTube channel) ... but we'll see.
