My Top Drugstore Products in 2015
Friday, 25 December 2015
As the year draws to an end, I thought I would share some of my favourite drugstore products of 2015 with you guys. I love trying new products, and I'm a sucker for any blogger suggestions, so I'd love to hear about your best beauty buys of 2015!
1. L'Oreal True Match Foundation
Now this product is an oldie, but a goodie! Now it's no secret in the beauty world that this foundation is a supposed dupe for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, and at £9.99 I couldn't help but snap this up! L'Oreal actually reformulated the product this year, and I can honestly say I've been reaching for this foundation daily. It's a super blendable formula, making the product so easy to work with. It's easy to build up the coverage of the foundation, and my tip for a more medium coverage is to apply this product with a Beauty Blender - it gives such a wonderful finish!
Happiness At Christmas
Thursday, 24 December 2015
It's easy to forget what Christmas is really about: our family, friends, a time for joy and love. We all forget modern day consumerism drives the country into overdrive and we're all bamboozled about the best, new products available on the high street. But what happens when you want to celebrate the meaning of Christmas, and you can't? Most people are happy, wrapping presents, dancing to Christmas songs on the radio. So why can't I feel like that?
I'm new to this blogging thing, but I know I wanted to use my platform to spread awareness of issues that affect so many people, but that are left unspoken due to unnecessary stigmas. I guess, this platform also allows me to keep motivated towards something, and keep positive too.
A Pre-Christmas treat: Oliver!
Wednesday, 23 December 2015
So this Christmas, me and my little sister were fortunate enough to go and see a show. My lovely Nan had bought us tickets to go and see Oliver! at the Curve Theatre, in Leicester. I hadn't been to the Curve in a long time, not since I was a part of their Young Company so it was real treat to be a part of the audience.
I'm a massive fan of the Curve and how they create their own productions, they're all so fabulously directed and their staging is always brilliant. They definitely give the West End a run for their money, with the addition of the promotion local talent. If you ever get time to catch a show, The Curve is definitely the place to go in the East Midlands.
I was delighted to find out the cast of the Dickens classic, with Cat Simmons playing Nancy (until Jan 2nd) and the wonderful actor Oliver Boot playing the villain Bill Sikes. I'd recently seen Boot in Richard II at The Globe Theatre, needless to say he was brilliant. I was defintely excited to see his portrayal of this classic dark character.

What 2015 Has Taught Me
Saturday, 19 December 2015
I can't believe how fast Christmas and the New Year has crept upon us. The last 6 months of the year just seem to have flown by, more than I would have liked them to. 2015 has been a weird year for me, I tried lots of things I never thought I would of, struggled with some personal demons (and still am) and have met some really cool people.
This year probably has not been my favourite year but 2015 has definitely taught me some valuable lessons.
1. Smiling is important. Don't forget to smile.
Moving to London I really underestimated the lack of smiling faces. I mean, I'm not one to listen to stereotypes but WOW, Southern people do not like to smile. Or be smiled at. Or smiling in general. (Top tip for 2016: never smile on the tube. Ever. And yes this collage of selfies was taken on the tube - needless to say, it wasn't appreciated by the masses.)
Dropping Out of Uni
Monday, 7 December 2015

So, as from the title you can see I'm dropping out of Uni. There, I said it. I'm going through the process of leaving university and I've realised not enough people have spoken about dropping out. It's like there's this automatic stigma that if you're a 'university dropout' you're some kind of failure. Its almost like the elephant in the room, if you will. There are many reasons that have cumulated to my decision, and I figured I'm probably not the only person in the world feeling like this. So I started university in September, all bright-eyed and eager to start studying English, something I'd always thoroughly enjoyed. After taking a 'Gap Year' or rather a year that felt like the longest year of my life, I was more than ready to start university. Seeing all of my friends having a wonderful time at uni, meeting lots of new people and generally having a sense of direction in life, had made me so excited to start my new chapter.

There's been so much that has gone on these past few weeks: I turned 20!!! (eeeek, I still can't get over the fact that I'm no longer a teenager, it's incredibly saddening. But, HEY! People say your twenties are the best years of your life... SO I'm hoping they don't disappoint.)
